A very important element of the future is CO CREATION - we need to work a lot more together despite who we are, what we do, where we come from etc. We need to create new collaborative solutions to the giant challenges we are facing as humans here on Planet Earth and at the same time we need to seriously enjoy the process. Therefore The MICRO LIVING BIENNALE - a bi annual activity that will give the possibility for people who wants to CO CREATE and help coming up with new radical and extremely innovative solutions to come and share a week together at MICRO MACRO MONDE. See this as a giant experimentarium, inspired partly by Burning Man and similar "camps" where you can meet, inspire and get inspired.

The MICRO LIVING BIENNALE start as a week long camp, where we will be living in self made structures, tents or the ones that need traditional comfort can live in neighboring hotels / gites  (french expression for a kind of countryside hotel). You are welcome to come a week before and build temporary structures for living in and putting up the camp in general.

During the week long MICRO LIVING BIENNALE there will be a series of MICRO LIVING ATELIERS which will all relate to the theme in various ways. Some of the ATELIERS might actually build real houses – others might build compost toilets, others will maybe work with economic aspects, all elements seen as ”holistic dimensions" – ”art” or self expressionism being an intrinsic part of MICRO LIVING and MICRO MACRO MONDE.

The last day of the week the MICRO LIVING BIENNALE exhibition will start and that will be the end of the ATELIER. This expo will last for a 2 to 3 days and will be open to the public.

 

The MICRO LIVING BIENNALE TV is a broad casting group which will follow and film the entire event and broadcast it on-line. The intention is that the coming Future MICRO LIVING BIENNALEs will have activities happening many other places on the planet simultaneously. Initially connections will be to India, Africa and Mexico.

MICRO LIVING is about inventing and exploring innovative and sustainable ways of living, using the minimum - living to the maximum.

 

It all starts with our shelters. Can we live in new and space wise less consuming ways? Can we invent ways to live that follows the seasons much more? Can we invent new ways of sharing things and services we use in our daily lives? Can we invent ways to live together and yet have a personal space? Can we share across the globe ”giving” part of our ”space” to others who might be in very big need of even basic shelter?

 

MICRO LIVING is about all this and a lot more.

 

And MICRO LIVING is not just talk – its doing. The idea is to build actual houses and giving coming users a possibility to live in them and that way getting experience in how to do MICRO LIVING.

 

MICRO MACRO MONDE a center fro experimental micro living, will become a MICRO LIVING lab during the weeks around the MLB – and therefore we will invite as many as possible to come to the The MICRO LIVING BIENNALE - an event which will be bi-annual in France and the following year biannual in one of the other participating countries primarily in the southern hemisphere.

 

The MICRO LIVING BIENNALE will take place at MICRO MACRO MONDE (Moulin de Planchette) in the commune of Cormes in Sarthe, France the last week of August 2011 (dates not fixed exactly yet).

The MICRO LIVING BIENNALE will be a kind of week long camp, where participants are living in tents as well as in close by hotels / gites.

There will be a series of MICRO LIVING ATELIERS which will all relate to the theme in various ways. Why The MICRO LIVING BIENNALE?

 

The MICRO LIVING BIENNALE is being launched not only because we need to live in more sustainable ways, we also need to explore new ways of being together since our way of actually living together is changing dramatically these years.

The global creative community can help a lot with making solutions to the many challenges the world is facing as a whole.

The MICRO LIVING BIENNALE will be an inspiring forum where many new visions and ideas can appear. The participants in the ATELIERS will leave with entirely new in puts to how we can design tomorrows world and the visitors of the exhibition afterwards will see new ideas that can be implemented in their own lives – either by themselves or with the help of professionals in order to live with less matter and yet with more quality.

 

How will The MICRO LIVING BIENNALE be established?

 

Approximately 20 ATELIER leaders will be found + various other individuals who will help running the ATELIERS – approximately 10 to 15 ateliers will be made for app. 100 to 200 persons.

 

ATELIER LEADERS will come from all over the world –

 

The The MICRO LIVING BIENNALE EXHIBITION will follow after the ATELIERS and will also have various talks and presentations by prominent and relevant individuals as well as organizations or companies.

The exhibition is intended to be lasting for minimum 3 days.

 

The MICRO LIVING BIENNALE ATELIERS will take place at the grounds of MMM in case of exceptional bad weather a close by “pension” (gite), which is app. 3 km from MMM,  has been booked for the event as well. The ATELIERS can then be split so that some groups work at the Gite and some at MMM.

 

Personal – human resources

 

The event will as far as possible be based on volunteers, but certain functions will need to be run by professionals such as:

-admin, economics etc.
